Mr. Lazenby began his engineering career with the Bureau of Public Roads (Federal Highway Administration) in 1965 following graduation from LA Polytechnic Institute (LA Tech University) with a degree in Civil Engineering. In 1974 he moved to West Monroe, Louisiana to join the engineering firm of Jenkins and Madden Engineering Company which evolved into the firm of Lazenby & Associates, Inc. Mr. Lazenby has over 47 years of professional engineering and land surveying experience in planning, design, construction engineering and administration of a wide variety of projects for state, municipal and private clients involving transportation systems, wastewater and potable water projects.
Mr. Lazenby has been involved in professional and civic clubs, societies and organizations since becoming an engineer in private practice. He has served as President of ACEC/L, Chairman of the ACEC/L Transportation Committee, Chairman of the PEPP Section of the Louisiana Engineering Society, President of the Monroe Chapter of LES, President of the West Monroe/West Ouachita Chamber of Commerce, President of the West Monroe Rotary Club, and President and Emeritus Member of the Louisiana Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors Board (LAPELS). Mr. Lazenby was elected to the position of Fellow in the American Counsel of Engineering Companies (ACEC), The National Society of Professional Engineers, and the Institute of Transportation Engineers.
Mr. Lazenby has received numerous awards, from professional societies such as the A.B. Patterson Award for a Professional Engineer in Management, the Leo M. Odom Award for Distinguished Service to the Engineering Profession, the 2008 ASCE Louisiana Section “Wall of Fame” award, the A.E. Wilder, Jr. Award for Outstanding Service to the American Counsel of Engineering Companies of Louisiana, and the 1995 Distinguished Alumnus Award in Civil Engineering from Louisiana Tech University.
Mr. Lazenby currently serves as the President of the Board of Directors of the firm of Lazenby & Associates, Inc. and is responsible for the daily management of the firm.
